{"id":9533,"date":"2021-03-11T12:00:25","date_gmt":"2021-03-11T11:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shimano-bike.pl\/?p=9533"},"modified":"2021-03-09T10:00:04","modified_gmt":"2021-03-09T09:00:04","slug":"shimano-steps-service-3rd-party-battery-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shimano-bike.pl\/en\/shimano-steps-service-3rd-party-battery-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Shimano STePS Service &#8211; 3rd Party battery service."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Customers of Shimano Polska,<\/p>\n<p>We are happy to inform you that Shimano has widened its services towards bicycles equipped with\u00a0 STEPS components.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The additional service concerns bikes with 3<sup>rd<\/sup> party battery.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What does that mean for you? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>New service applies to the bikes that have Shimano STEPS drive unit and related components, <strong>but the battery is of another supplier who made it compatible with our Shimano STEPS system<\/strong>. At this moment we offer this service towards <strong>Darfon<\/strong> and <strong>Simplo<\/strong> batteries under certain conditions, described below.<\/p>\n<p>All compatible batteries will share a common identification to make it easy for dealers to spot which batteries can be serviced via this new simplified approach. The batteries will now feature a special \u2018SHIMANO STePS SERVICE\u2019 sticker (<strong>only these are covered by this program<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8994\" src=\"https:\/\/shimano-bike.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/SSS2.png\" alt=\"Shimano STePS Service 2\" width=\"131\" height=\"90\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8992\" src=\"https:\/\/shimano-bike.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/SSS1.png\" alt=\"Shimano STePS Service 1\" width=\"131\" height=\"90\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Participating stores will also be able to see the battery model number in Shimano\u2019s E-TUBE PROJECT to check if it can be supported.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9527\" src=\"https:\/\/shimano-bike.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/E-tube-battery-check.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1073\" height=\"397\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Previously dealers requiring support with such 3<sup>rd<\/sup> party batteries had to reach out to the bike manufacturer or the battery manufacturer. But now SHIMANO is optimizing this handling process.
