Shimano STePS Service – 3rd Party battery service.

Dear Customers of Shimano Polska,

We are happy to inform you that Shimano has widened its services towards bicycles equipped with  STEPS components.

The additional service concerns bikes with 3rd party battery.

What does that mean for you?

New service applies to the bikes that have Shimano STEPS drive unit and related components, but the battery is of another supplier who made it compatible with our Shimano STEPS system. At this moment we offer this service towards Darfon and Simplo batteries under certain conditions, described below.

All compatible batteries will share a common identification to make it easy for dealers to spot which batteries can be serviced via this new simplified approach. The batteries will now feature a special ‘SHIMANO STePS SERVICE’ sticker (only these are covered by this program).

Participating stores will also be able to see the battery model number in Shimano’s E-TUBE PROJECT to check if it can be supported.

Previously dealers requiring support with such 3rd party batteries had to reach out to the bike manufacturer or the battery manufacturer. But now SHIMANO is optimizing this handling process. Starting in APRIL 2021 dealers in Poland will now be able to get specific Darfon or Trend Power batteries serviced through the trusted SHIMANO network.

In case of a warranty claimed by consumer on a battery supported by Shimano STePS Service.
You simply need to follow steps bellow:

  1. Go to Shimano-bike.pl or go directly to: STePS Battery Warranty Claim
  2. On the login page click the button: “Shimano STePS Service – Battery Warranty Claim”
  3. Follow steps in claim form.
